Loyola University Chicago's International Law Review (ILR) invites legal scholars and practitioners to submit manuscripts to be considered for publication in the Winter 2025 issue, 22 Loy. U. Chi. Int’l L. Rev. __ (2025). Below, we describe the issue's thematic scope and the submission procedure.

In this issue, submissions may address the Spring 2025 Symposium topic of "International Environmental Law: Practical and Human Rights Implications and Consequences". As environmental concerns continue to intersect with human rights issues across the globe, the need for robust international environmental law frameworks becomes increasingly critical. As of 2025, many nations still struggle to implement comprehensive environmental protection measures that adequately address both ecological preservation and human rights considerations. This topic should examine the practical implications of international environmental law and its impact on human rights worldwide. While other topics surrounding the idea of the complex relationships between environmental degradation, human rights, climate justice, and corporate responsibility may be considered, preference will be given to articles addressing the above-described topic.

If you are interested, please submit your relevant manuscript and current resume/curriculum vitae (including contact information) through Scholastica or to InternationalLawReview@luc.edu. We are only considering authors who have a J.D. or equivalent degree (Please note: We are unable to consider work from students currently enrolled in JD or equivalent programs). Each submission must be between 30-45 pages, double-spaced, in Times New Roman, with 1” margins, and contain more than 100 citations. The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (US CST), and we anticipate communicating our decisions by late September 2025.
